Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 21, 2026

1. Overview

Calcify ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy to the fullest extent possible. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding information when you visit and use our website at calcify.dev (the "Service").

The short version: we do not collect, store, process, or share any personal data. Every tool on Calcify performs all calculations and data processing locally in your browser. Nothing you type, calculate, or generate is ever transmitted to our servers or to any third-party server. This is not a marketing claim — it is a fundamental architectural decision built into how Calcify works.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

To be completely transparent about what we do and do not do, here is a clear list of what Calcify does not collect:

  • Personal information: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or any other personally identifiable information (PII).
  • Account data: We do not require or store usernames, passwords, or any account credentials. Calcify has no user accounts.
  • Calculation inputs or results:When you use any calculator (BMI, GPA, calorie, etc.), the numbers you enter and the results generated stay entirely in your browser's memory. They are never sent anywhere.
  • Text or code you process: When you use developer tools (JSON formatter, regex tester, Base64 encoder, etc.), your text, code, and output are processed client-side only. We never see or store your data.
  • File uploads: Any files you upload for processing (such as CSV-to-JSON conversion) are processed in your browser and never leave your device.
  • Location data: We do not track or store your precise geographic location.
  • Browsing history on other sites: We do not track what websites you visit before or after using Calcify.

3. Automatically Collected Technical Data

Like virtually all websites, certain technical data is generated automatically when your browser connects to our servers. This data is collected by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and consists of:

  • IP address (anonymized): Your IP address is processed by Cloudflare for security and routing purposes. Cloudflare anonymizes the last octet before making analytics data available to us.
  • Browser type and version: Information about your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) for compatibility purposes.
  • Device type: Whether you are visiting from a desktop, tablet, or mobile device.
  • Operating system: The OS your device is running (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux, etc.).
  • Referrer URL: The page you were on before visiting Calcify (e.g., a Google search results page).
  • Pages visited: Which Calcify pages you visit and how long you spend on each.

This data is aggregated and anonymized. We use it only to understand general usage patterns — which tools are most popular, which pages have errors, and how visitors find us. We do not use this data to identify, track, or profile individual users.

4. Local Storage & Browser Storage

Calcify uses your browser's local storage and/or session storage for a few specific, optional purposes:

  • Theme preference: We store your light/dark/system theme choice so it persists across visits.
  • Recently used tools: We may store a list of recently accessed tools to provide quick-access shortcuts in the command palette.

This data is stored entirely on your device within your browser. It is never transmitted to Calcify or any third party. You can view, modify, or delete this data at any time through your browser's developer tools (usually under Application → Local Storage) or by clearing your browser's site data.

5. Cookies

Calcify uses an absolute minimum of cookies — and only for essential functionality. Here is the complete list:

  • Theme cookie: A single cookie may be set to remember your light/dark mode preference if cookies are available (falls back to localStorage if cookies are disabled).

We do not use:

  • Tracking cookies
  • Advertising cookies
  • Analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics cookies)
  • Third-party cookies from advertisers or data brokers
  • Social media tracking pixels

6. Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics to understand general traffic patterns. Specifically:

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics: This is our primary analytics tool. It does not use cookies, does not track individual users across sessions, does not collect personal data, and is fully compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations. It provides aggregated data about page views, visitor counts, and general geographic regions.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, or any other third-party analytics platform that tracks individual user behavior. The analytics data we receive cannot be used to identify you personally.

7. Third-Party Services & Links

Calcify may contain links to external websites and resources. These links are provided for informational purposes only. We want you to know:

  • We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or policies of any external website.
  • Inclusion of a link does not constitute endorsement of the linked site or its operators.
  • External sites may collect data through their own cookies, analytics, and tracking mechanisms that are not controlled by Calcify.
  • We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any website you visit through links on Calcify.

Our hosting infrastructure is provided by Cloudflare, Inc. Cloudflare's privacy policy governs how they handle server-level data (such as server logs and DDoS protection data). You can review Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

8. Data Security

While we do not collect personal data, we still take security seriously:

  • HTTPS everywhere:All connections to Calcify are encrypted using TLS/SSL via Cloudflare's global CDN.
  • No server-side data storage: Since all tool processing happens in your browser, there is no database of user data to breach, leak, or compromise.
  • No JavaScript from third-party trackers: We do not load tracking scripts, advertising SDKs, or analytics beacons from third parties that could potentially collect data.
  • Content Security Policy: We implement strict Content Security Policy headers to prevent unauthorized script execution and cross-site scripting attacks.
  • Regular updates: We keep all dependencies up to date to patch known security vulnerabilities promptly.

9. Children's Privacy

Calcify is a general-audience website suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). Since Calcify does not collect personal information from any user, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent international regulations are inherently satisfied. No age verification is required to use our tools, and children are welcome to use Calcify for educational purposes.

10. GDPR, CCPA & International Privacy Rights

Calcify is designed to comply with major international privacy regulations by default:

  • GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation): We do not process personal data. There is no data controller/processor relationship because no personal data is collected. The right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port personal data is inherently satisfied — there is no personal data to access or erase.
  • CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act): We do not sell, share, or collect personal information. The CCPA rights to know, delete, and opt-out of the sale of personal data are inherently satisfied.
  • Other regulations: Similar privacy regulations worldwide (LGPD in Brazil, PIPEDA in Canada, POPIA in South Africa, etc.) are also inherently satisfied by our no-collection approach.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information, or if you have any privacy-related concerns, please contact us immediately at hello@calcify.dev and we will address the issue promptly.

11. Contact Us

If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please do not hesitate to reach out:

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of Calcify after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If we make material changes to how we handle data (which is unlikely given our no-collection philosophy), we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through a visible notice on the website.
